I'm thinking the best day would be Friday, October 11th. They have a butterfly plant sale that weekend, which would go nicely with the exhibit. We can do a guided tour, or go without a guide. I think it would be best to go guided, we'll all get more out of it. Then each family can decide after if they would like to pay for any additional special exhibits, or explore the museum.
Museum admission is free, donations suggested. Each special exhibit has its own price.
Butterfly exhibit: $6.50/student, teachers free, 1 chaperone free per 10 students, $11/additional adult
(I'm waiting to hear back, I emailed to confirm pricing for homeschool parents/teachers.)
The tour begins at 11:15, the museum opens at 10. So, if each family arrives anytime between 10 and 11, they can explore a bit on their own and then do the butterfly tour as a group.
They have nice areas outside if we want to pack lunches for after the tour.

Learn to Skate
Daytona Ice Arena: 2400 S Ridgewood Ave South Daytona
Cost: Free includes admission, skates and scooter if needed
Ages: 5+ (normally 8 but if you feel they can balance on skates and enjoy.
Parents are not allowed on the ice)
Snacks: Concession stand open
Lunch: Bring your lunch or buy at arena $5.00 for Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Chicken Fingers with chips and drink.
REMEMBER:
WE WILL BE IN AN ICE ARENA, IT WILL BE COLD! PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY. JACKETS, GLOVES, WARM SOCKS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
After Arena: Meet at Riverwalk Park

There is a playground, pavilion, restroom facilities and splash pad (weather permitting) Bring swimsuit and towel
Please let me know by October 14th kids names and ages and what you will do about lunch options.
